"A task planning problem in a home care business"

In this work we present a task planning problem for a home care business. The company has a set of nurses in charge of visiting the users’ homes and it wants to solve the problem that consists of scheduling the nurses working days in order to correctly attend all the clients. The real cases the company faces are of great size and can’t be solved in an exact way, therefore we propose a heuristic algorithm to solve the incidents, the company addresses, in short computational times. In order to validate the behaviour of the heuristic algorithm we use it to solve a battery of examples, both small-sized instances and real-like cases.
